Mi Casa es Tu Casa 2025: Rooted in Remembrance marks Pajaro Valley Arts’ final exhibition at our Sudden Street gallery before we transition to the historic Porter Building in 2026. Inspired by Día de los Muertos—a tradition that honors loved ones who have passed—this beloved annual exhibit transforms the gallery into a welcoming “home” for reflection, celebration, and connection.
This year’s theme, Rooted in Remembrance / Enraizados en el Recuerdo, highlights creative expressions that honor ancestors, friends, pets, and community figures. Altars, installations, and artworks from diverse cultural traditions explore memory, heritage, and the evolving meaning of home and legacy.
About Día de los Muertos:Celebrated from October 31–November 2, Día de los Muertos blends Indigenous and Catholic traditions to honor the dead with color, music, food, and art. Central to the celebration are ofrendas—altars filled with photographs, marigolds, candles, and offerings that welcome spirits back for a joyful reunion. Join us in this poignant and powerful farewell to Sudden Street as we prepare to carry our memories—and our mission—into a new chapter at the Porter Building.
